Frequently asked questions

Find answers to the most commonly asked questions about Ashworth College’s online degree programs.

Undergraduate certificates are often shorter, subject-focused programs that can be completed in less than a year. While you earn college credit for your coursework, a certificate isn’t the same as an associate degree or bachelor’s degree and is often best for those looking for an introduction to college-level classes or those who want to update skills they already have. An associate degree is generally a four-semester, two-year degree that includes both general education and career-focused classes. A bachelor’s degree, similarly, is comprised of general education and subject-specific courses but generally takes around four to five years to complete and can help you learn more in-depth skills and knowledge about a particular subject.

Yes! All our degree programs are nationally accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), meaning that your education with Ashworth meets national standards and offers a legitimate college degree. Specific college programs may also have accreditation through other industry-recognized organizations, such as our Veterinary Technician Associate Degree, which is further accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA).

No! At Ashworth College, students aren’t required to apply or provide standardized testing scores. To start earning your online college degree, you need to have a high school diploma or equivalent before enrolling and, depending on the degree, may need to meet minimum age requirements.

If you’ve completed college courses in the past, you may have credits that are eligible to be transferred toward your Ashworth College degree. Once you’ve enrolled, you’ll request an official copy of your transcripts be sent to our registrar, who will then evaluate the classes you’ve completed to ensure they are eligible for transfer. The registrar evaluates transcripts and credits based on grades, completed courses, and whether or not a class matches the curriculum of the course offered at Ashworth.
